Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette did not like her head. She wondered if I could do to solve this problem and how? Then she became queen of France. Fixed problem with French farmers. This story, children's work, because it teaches values, please tell me.

  1. I read somewhere that Queen Antoinette got herself caught because she didn't give up her perfume habit. I think it's Luca Turin (a biophysicist, but best known for his witty perfume reviews) I'm paraphrasing? "She descended from her carriage in a cloud of Houbigant. No ordinary citizen could afford that shit."

This was, of course, back when Houbigant was a luxury brand.

Ron Mael of Sparks (yes-siree, I am still obsessed with Sparks) wrote the English lyrics to this song, "Marie Antoinette" (the English-language version of "Banana Split"). Couple bits I can remember: "They have a guillotine...I have a neck, nanana..." "Let them eat pizza...let them eat cake, nanana, nanananananana...."

  2. lol@ this Amy. She apologized to her executioner for stepping on his foot. She made the best of difficult circumstances. It was the famine and not ideology which really made that Revolution happen. I think we'd all do some pretty wild shit if our kids were starving and the granaries weren't being opened.

  3. I will watch the video later (thanks!) crashing fast. I have this weird feeling it's afternoon and it's almost 11 pm. My biological clock is soooo off! Cheers.
