Ik was wakker en ik niet voelde verschillend. Het houdt geen steek te klagen als niemand geeft. Ik herinner me eens ziend een film over een kat in een ufo. Waarschijnlijk Disney. Ik ben zelfs vermoeid van het bekijken bizarre pornografie. Rawr. Ik ben een dinosaurus. U zou nu moeten lopen.
Dutch? Curious about how Disney fits in there.
ReplyDeleteI only know one bit of Dutch a friend of mine (and I just realized I've forgotten his name!) used to say: Ach, mein hoeven! (Oh, my head!) I still say it sometimes. I don't even know if it's correct.
Sometimes we pick up the oddest things in other languages--I've learned to say "How tall is your dentist?" in Spanish and "Suck the cock of a drunken porcupine" in Russian.
Apparently "rawr" works in multiple languages!
Lol. I think it works okay but really it's just a word it couldn't translate. But somehow I think Rawr would probably work in most languages. But maybe not. Like "WHAM!" in French is "VLAN!" Sort of close but not really the same. It's very useful to know how to say "Suck the cock of a drunken porcupine" in Russian....I have an odd-sized little book (mustard colored) of Russian swears, curses, insults, etc. Perhaps that's the reference that gave you that wonderful one? It's weird that sometimes just sounding the Dutch words out you can tell what the sentence is. Because sometimes it's so close to English when it's not being Germanic. But then other words...like "probably"....
ReplyDeleteWaarschijnlijk...that wouldn't wash clean in my ear....nothing like it...I just liked "Ik ben een dinosaurus." That's pleasing to me sound wise (with its echo of Kennedy's German quote and just the sounds and even shapes of the words. It's fun to translate things back and forth or through several languages.
Hope you had a cool day.
Bless.
(doing the Icelandic sign off lol)
I took half an Ambien and surprisingly it didn't take me down fast.
So I'm going for the other half.
I was too into reading too much online today.
Tumblr absorbs me like a sponge.
Ay...to pillows and cats.
