Disturbing

There is a FACEBOOK group you can join in case Iran pays attention to universal disgust. I'm guessing they don't.

If Obama played like George Bush did, we'd no doubt be in a war with Iran by now to cinch re-election.

I'm sure there are other tactics that could work. I hope our State department figures one out. I hope other non-fundamentalist nations are also pressuring Iran that the world is not going to accept execution for belief system in the 21st century.

Theocracies suck all the way around.

And Michel Houllebecq gets called intellectually irresponsible when he portrays Muslim fundamentalists like this as horribly as they actually often are in his novels or in his interviews.

I don't want to even begin to think of the amount of bloodshed that is going to be required for some of these countries to ever make it into the 21st century.

I still can't fathom what happened in Iraq. If you look at the actual film footage, I mean.

I can't do that often.

First world problems suddenly seem the apotheosis of evil. When one looks at that stuff.

I wonder how it would strike someone coming from one of those countries to see that commercial in which that hideous, decorative toilet paper coffee can (oh I'm sorry--cozy!) is touted as the new essential element of modern American living.
